Before i properly start this bit, i am just going to reiterate the importance of constantly theory-checking what you do in your everyday life. This is the thing that society does not want. Society does not want a conscious, well-rounded person that actually thinks about what they were doing. Because nobody would buy any beer! Nobody would abuse their children, and in turn society wouldn’t be the reactionary, insular bucket-of-crabs, everyone alone in the crowd of sheep mess it is today!
Here in this course we want the main two forms of progress to arise as a result of this course;Â
Personal Development, for example, an expanded/heightened consciousness and perception, prowess in the spirit world, increased zeal and more well-rounded and critical thinking processes
Community Development, for example starting a little community spiritual/political/philosophical group for the progress of society, getting involved within the Rosefolk (please do), or other spiritual/religious orgs.
These are the main two forms of progress, again, and they sort of work like a slider. You can have more of one, and less of another. Anyway, onto the theory that you should be practicing.
The main stuff are the “rules for ritual” laid out in A:H (a book). There are some ones that are entirely for rituals, such as WEAR YOUR TITLES and DO NOT TALK TO “HUMANS”, so i shall list the important ones here and go over why they are important. Here they are:
- DO NOT CUT YOUR HAIR
- DO NOT AMALGAMATE YOURSELF
- BE PROTECTED
- MOVE WITH PURPOSE
Now, some of these are going to sound a little bit strange, but allow me to explain;
The second one, don’t cut your hair. Now i know i blame a lot on today’s society, but this one is indefensible. The native americans specifically, but lots of other cultures too, understood the spiritual value of hair. It is an energy center, and cutting it just for “looks” is an extremely thoughtless materialistic thing to do.
Think of your hair as many little pipes, some taking in energy from the world, some exuding energy, similar to you breathing in and out. Imagine what would happen if you sliced off your mouth. You would probably get an infection, you could no longer properly control the rhythm of your breathing, nor your breathing at all for that matter. Such happens when you slice off your hair, especially with such meaningless and almost malevolent intention behind it.
I will also add that i’m talking about natural hair here. Those with naturally short or no hair have that for a reason.
Number three, do not amalgamate yourself. It certainly sounds interesting, but it’s really not. It essentially boils down to; your physical self should stay natural and true to your actual physical self. Now, these are rules for ritual, but some, especially this one should be applied almost at all times. What this means is simple, changing yourself for looks is not honorable, and things like makup, haircuts, braces and plastic surgery should really be avoided. (i’m not talking about trans people here, doing things to make you your true self are equivalent to a beautiful sculpture, freeing the figures in the marble). At the very least, think about what you’re doing, evaluate the pros and cons and keep a conscious attitude about you.
Essentially, consider if the thing that you are doing is moving you towards you or something else.
Four, be protected. This comes in two forms, physical protection, ie; don’t walk in front of a bus, and metaphysical protection, ie; protection rites and energy work. I don’t really have much more to add to this, protection workings should be surrounding you wherever you go.
And finally, move with purpose. Your movement should be conscious and self-generated, eurythmic and strong, even if your movement is to be soft.
These aren’t definite rules, your great-grandma isn’t going to arise from the grave and take you to grand-land if you disobey them, but following these rules for ritual is something that definitely should be attempted. Obviously they do not apply to every situation ever, but nothing does and those who say otherwise don’t know what they’re talking about.
